Sr Mechanical Engineer / Renewable Energy / Moorestown, NJ
Job Description :
Lockheed Martin Energy develops cutting edge products in areas of energy storage, energy management, tidal energy systems, waste-to-energy systems, micro-grid technology, and nuclear systems.
Lockheed Martin is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a position in its Bio Energy line of business. The primary job responsibility will be to support proposal, specification, and design coordination of industrial and utility scale renewable energy plants (Biomass-to-Power, Biomass-to-Fuel, and Waste-to-Energy). Candidate will spend majority of time working in a team environment, developing design documents, developing technical bid packages, coordinating and reviewing subcontractor designs, providing inputs to internal customers, supporting meetings, performing analyses, and writing reports. Duties include: Review engineering design activities including energy-mass balances, PFDs, P&IDs. Develop general arrangements, technical specifications, equipment lists, line lists, engineering calculations and documentation. Develop and support technology evaluations and trade studies related to mechanical equipment or systems. Support project proposals, front-end engineering designs, and technical writing. Support equipment vendor evaluation, selection and coordination activities. Support subcontractor scope of work and construction work package development. Provide support to construction and commissioning activities. Some travel is required.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor degree from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering Must have 5
years of experience in Mechanical Engineering Strong technical background Experience with selection and specification of mechanical equipment or systems Proficient with Microsoft Office Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build effective working relationships Candidate must be willing to travel as needed to support program requirements

Petroleum or power project experience
Detail oriented and ability to complete tasks independently with minimal supervision Experience with turbines, IC engines, HRSGs, flaring systems, material handling equipment, water treatment, heat exchangers, evaporators, pumps, conveyance equipment, blowers, vessels, etc. Material handling and processing equipment experience for various biomass, MSW, RDF, hospital waste and other specialized fuel sources Gasification technology and equipment experience Experience with Engineering, Procurement and Construction processes related to project development Familiarity with industry codes and standards such as API, ASME, ASTM, AWS, FM, NEMA, NFPA, OSHA, UL Professional Engineering license Proficient in AutoCAD and AutoCAD P&ID Familiarity with 3D design tools HVAC and Fire Protection experience Piping design / sizing experience International project experience
