Summary:
With a focus on the Communications and Consulting business segments in the Syneos Commercial Division, develops and manages relationships within these groups as a liaison between business leaders and Information Technology (IT). Works closely with the business teams to identify new solution and business process improvements and facilitates new project prioritization, intake, and mobilization, from idea stage up to and including project kickoff and execution. The IT Business Partner understands and uncovers business need, facilitates business case development, and helps create solutions to meet client requirements. You may take on some project or program management responsibility as well as business analysis, and ultimately have responsibility for delivery of application and technology solutions. You must possess a broad range of technology knowledge/background to understand and facilities solution and problem-solving discussions among a broad range of technology subject matter experts. You must be a natural problem solver and self-motivated to work out the best solution rather than waiting to be told how to do it. Outside-the-box thinking is a key success factor in this role.
Essential Functions:
1. Acts as a liaison between IT and internal business partners functioning as an intake valve for potential IT engagements that meet new and evolving business needs. 2. Responsible for project intake activities as a facilitator, not the decision maker:
Discovery, with both IT and Business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). Requirement Gathering, cross functional with consideration of both current and potential solutions. Guiding Evaluation of potential solutions. Gaining Approval for the chosen solution, with the Business, IT, Finance and Senior management. Responsibility for Kicking Off the project working with the Program & Project Services team as involved. 3. Works with Business, IT and Corporate communities of practice to ensure alignment with corporate objectives and plans, helps to prioritize the portfolio of projects and to ensure business has a full understanding of resource realities and trade-off requirements. 4. May have responsibility for project communications and change management activities as new efforts are initiated. 5. May function as a project manager in very early stages of an engagement or for the life cycle of an engagement depending on size/scope of the initiative and resourcing need at that time. 6. Line management responsibilities for staff members. For direct and indirect reports, may participate in and manage activities related to department staff operations such as interviewing and selection, job description preparation, professional development, goal setting, performance management, coaching and mentoring, employee counseling, and separations. May review and approve time records, expense reports, and/or requests for leave as needed. 7. Works with and advises staff on administrative policies and procedures, technical problems, priorities, and methods, such as:
Support the strategy and planning of current and next-gen Commercial solutions Understand application functionality and related Life Sciences use cases Ensure overall success of implementations, focusing on project estimating, delivery, resourcing, internal client relationship and overall program health Partner with internal and external teams as appropriate to support discovery, project planning, timeline and cost estimating as it relates to the use of technology for internal or client initiatives Lead and guide solution implementation associates / contractors throughout all phases of implementations including planning, designing, building, testing and deploying. Proactively monitor, manage and report on execution of deliverables and product releases. Escalate as needed. Other
Responsibilities:
Performs other work-related duties as assigned. Some travel may be required (up to 10-15%). Qualifications BA/BS degree in Computer Science/Information Technology, Technology Management or related discipline or equivalent education and experience. Process-oriented design, strong client service, leadership, and project management skills are essential. Background in pharmaceutical, biotech development, or health care industry strongly preferred. Highly effective presentation, documentation, interpersonal, and leadership skills with a team-oriented approach are necessary. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment is essential. 10
years' experience delivering technological and business process change initiatives with an emphasis on sales/marketing automation and advertising agency/communications domains. Exposure to Life Sciences Commercial Communications, Digital Agency and IT solution use cases is preferred. Strong project management experience and attention to detail. Managed delivery of multiple projects for clients including managing vendor and internal teams. Success working autonomously and interacting with and partnering with both technical and non-technical associates. PMP, Agile/ScrumMaster certification or significant similar domain background/experience is a plus.
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
